How Heat Recovery Works

A heat recovery system operates on a relatively simple principle of heat exchange, although the mechanism that makes it work is far more complex. Basically, though stale, your existing indoor air is nevertheless still heated air, which means it has much to offer your incoming cold air. As fresh cold air comes in through the HRV, it moves through a thermal exchange core where it absorbs as much of the thermal energy and humidity of the outgoing indoor air as possible. Because your fresh air is preconditioned, your heater does not have to work as hard to ensure that your indoor temperature remains uniform. It’s a great way to save some bucks while drastically improving your indoor air quality.

Heat Recovery Ventilator Installation

In order to ensure that your heat recovery ventilator works well for the years to come, it needs to be professionally installed. There’s simply no way for your system to operate properly and according to manufacturer’s instructions if it is not seamlessly integrated into your existing HVAC system. As you can well imagine, any modification to your ducts by a non–professional can lead to fairly disappointing results, not to mention possible damage. Let the HVAC professionals on our team take care of every aspect of your heat recovery ventilator installation so that the job is done right the first time.
